Together has personality. Its premise is a catchy metaphor for its substantial drama. Struggles like codependency, anxiety, and complacency are thematically considered. One of its protagonists is developed with internal conflicts, while the relationship between its two leads is realized. The acting's careful layers, vivid chemistry, sincere vulnerability, and visceral intensity elevate the material. Their arcs are bittersweet plus significant. Its dialogue balances naturalism with sharp wit. Aside from one sudden dump, the exposition is controlled. There's setup/payoff as well as steadily increasing suspense. Thus, Together's magnified intimacy is relatable and entertaining.

Technically, Together blends a range of genres as well as tones. The imagery utilizes shallow focus, diegetic lighting, angles, and movement. Inside a tight structure, its editing accentuates consistent tension with pops of style (like inserts and intercuts). Immersive, the proactive sound offers an array of subjective distortions plus harsh violence. Its music contrasts primarily atmospheric, discordant scoring with a climactic needle drop. The production design conveys a small-town sense of place. Buoying moderate fame, its cast adds meta fit. Creating escalating body horror, the effects combine practical and digital approaches. Overall, Together is a breath of fresh air.
