AfrAId perpetually unravels. Its social commentary premise is bluntly executed, leaving topics unpacked. Despite taking a productive stance, the script offers no insight. Generic but functional characters are set up, then sidelined. Plot developments are predictable yet nonsensical, interrupting real ideas that could've been explored. Its satire and formulaic horror never gel, becoming a jumbled mess. This especially shows in the unsatisfying climax. Then it attempts a bittersweet ending without earning the emotions. Plus, there's forced dialogue, rushed growth, and clumsy resolution. The acting has moments of sincerity but even that's spotty. Thus, AfrAId squanders its potential.
Technically, AfrAId is ineffective. Despite passable choices, its direction struggles to make any impact, constantly feeling creatively stifled. The cinematography is generally uninspired even though it has superficial touches of lighting and movement. Its editing may have a short runtime, but it adds fizzling momentum, monotonous pacing, and uneven structure. Other than some excessive stings, the sound isn't a factor. Similarly, its music, production design, and effects are woefully underutilized, neglected mediums treated as perfunctory afterthoughts. Only the cast is positive, providing mild fame, solid fit, and good diversity. Consequently, AfrAId is highly forgettable.
