Fast X is chaotic nonsense. There's obvious exposition, excessive characters, insincere drama, unnatural dialogue, contrivances, inconsistent motivations, irrational logistics, and farcical threats. Scenes are pointless, the villain is flat, and the protagonists are flatter. Momoa is flamboyant, but everyone else is one-note or wooden. There isn't a conclusion or arc because it ends on a cliffhanger. Thus, the film feels tensionless, empty, cliche, and tiresome. People looking for nonstop action are better off with compilation videos, and people looking for anything more will disengage. Ultimately, Fast X offers no connection and doesn't even qualify as a story.
Technically, Fast X pummels audiences with quantity over quality, executing ridiculous set pieces with frenzied mediocrity. Its unearned tone lifelessly bounces across genres. The editing has an accelerated pace and bloated runtime, rushing emotions and testing endurance. The jumbled imagery exacerbates this with wild motion. Its overcut and generic music strives for trendiness rather than mood. The production design is sterile and full of product placements. Its effects are spotty CGI. The sound becomes noisy but does its job of conveying action. Its cast has stars and cameos. Overall, Fast X is a shallow blockbuster, inspired by global money rather than any artistic passion.
