Karate Kid: Legends is empty. It has clunky exposition, contrived relationships, cliche formulas, and constant coincidences. The obvious plot plus shallow drama generates no tension. Its blatant retread script makes nothing its own. Prioritizing commercialism over storytelling, it forces in franchise digressions. There are no themes or insights into the supposed conflicts. The ending doesn't earn its triumph (because the superficial protagonist has no flaws to overcome) and replaces resolution with sequel bait. Characters are generic while its dialogue is cheesy. Despite okay charm, the weightless acting lacks vulnerability. Thus, Karate Kid: Legends is a haphazard product.

Technically, Karate Kid: Legends slaps together bland set pieces, a farcical tone, and cheap ambiance. The cinematography is flat as well as excessively shaky during action. Rushing from montage to montage, its editing constructs a flimsy experience. The sound provides combat, emphasis, and stings. Wanting to be hip more than establish any specific atmosphere, its music is distracting. The production design frequently feels stale plus artificial. Though there's decent representation, its cast has weak fame and shoehorned cameos. The effects combine mediocre stunts with unconvincing green screens. Consequently, Karate Kid: Legends is an afterthought to its marketing campaign.
