My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is a pointless waste of time, thinly stretching aimless platitudes into a feature film. It doesn't have a central conflict or main protagonist, bouncing between minor inconveniences that resolve without tension, growth, or insight. The plot quickly breaks down into a series of arbitrary events that don't constitute a beginning-middle-end. It has cringe dialogue, painfully stale humor, flat characters, cliche contrivances, predictability, and weak filler. There are no stakes, motivations, themes, subtext, or vulnerability. The acting is shallow, forced, dull, and annoying. Overall, Greek Wedding 3 is a kitsch and lazy mash of recycled trash.
Technically, Greek Wedding 3 is tacky. Its hackneyed direction offers sanitized tones, bland style, and disinterested energy. The cinematography is flat, basic, overlit, and impersonal. Its random editing has no momentum, structure, or flair. The sound offers clunky voiceovers, some symbolic echoes, a volume shift, and cheap ADR. Its music adds cultural needle drops and cheesy scoring. The production design shows scenic Greek b-roll but the characters are often confined to small, overly staged locations. Its cast has all the relevant returners but none are big names. The effects are minimal but fairly low-quality. Ultimately, Greek Wedding 3 is incompetent and empty.
