Terrifier 3 is more of an exhibition than a narrative. Its plot breaks up formulaic set pieces with aimless filler. The drama is blunt and stagnant. There are, of course, no themes. It has painfully forced dialogue, paper-thin characters, convoluted exposition, contrivances, excessive threads, and edgelord attempts at shock. This incomplete story doesn't even have a beginning or end; it's all just meandering middle. Simply put, the writing does almost nothing right. Meanwhile, the acting is inconsistent. Thornton is highly animated and LaVera brings decent sincerity, but everyone else feels amateur. Consequently, Terrifier 3 actively repels emotional investment.
Technically, Terrifier 3 mostly seems cheap. Its direction can't manage a cohesive tone. Despite a couple of interesting shots, the cinematography is basic and often drab. Its monotonous editing has no grasp of momentum or structure. While providing violence, stings, and distortions, the sound can become grating. The music counters generic scoring with juxtaposing Christmas songs. Although it manages a marketable villain costume, the production design is confined by a low budget. Its cast offers no fame yet Thornton fits well. The effects are the indisputable centerpiece, creating visceral gore through tangible prosthetics. Overall, Terrifier 3 is a one-trick pony.
